For Composers

Composers may submit to one of two categories; Symphony Orchestra or a Concerto Submission.  Composers may be considered for more than one, however, they will be required to fill out a separate application for each additional category they wish to submit to.  Submissions should reflect the composers best work in the category, or demonstrate their ability to write for a large medium.  There are no stylistic restrictions.  The instrumentation can be found by clicking the links below.

About

The purpose for composition participants of the Sofia Symphonic Summit is to provide composers the opportunity to collaborate with a professional orchestra and conductor who will exclusively work with their piece in preparation for the concert.

The score should be completed two months prior to the scheduled performance date.  Parts must be ready one month prior to the scheduled performance date.

You will be placed in contact with your personal conductor one month after the close of the application deadline.

Your piece will be scheduled for a rehearsal, a dress rehearsal, and a performance.  Pieces should not exceed ten minutes in length.

Masterclasses and group discussions will be an integral part of the program, allowing participants to learn from each other and the master teachers on staff.
